The Beach

So for the past couple weeks i've been reading a book called "the beach". this book captured my attention and took my imagination to new heights. it made me really want to travel. after i finished the book i decided i'd finally watch the movie for the first time. at the first of the movie i have to say i was impressed with how well it was communicating the book across. then they got to the beach.up to that point it was pretty much in sync with the book. but of course hollywood has to add numerous sex scenes. one of the best parts of the book is the main character "richard" is in love with a french girl that he cant have. in the book (like in reality) he didnt get the girl. in the movie the leo dicaprio version of richard fucks people he never thought of in the book. i was also dissapointed in the movie not mentioning Jed at all, they kind of rolled him off into the "Sal" character mixed with richard. he doesn't go too insane in the book and only a few people leave the island. where as in the movie they /

antichrist

Lars von Trier's 2009  antichrist is almost impossible for me to understand on first view. lets just say there were parts that freaked me out. for instance it shows a wild dog of some kind eating itself. insane. the gore was pretty bad, but the blood cumming penis didnt bother me. if this was intended to be shocking instead of boring at most times. i did like a lot of the camera work, awesome artistic shots.

being john malkovich

so i finally got around to watching this awesome flick. i love john malkovich and i dont know who plays the pupeteer, but he is my hero. this explores the ins and outs of psychotic love, human nature, and the yearning to live forever.
cameron diaz is in this, i didnt recognize her until more than halfway through ! the forty year old virgin chick is such a worthless bitch in this movie. MAXINE, stupid whore.

True Romance (1993)

this is the first movie in a while that i havent watched stoned. it is written by Quentin Tarantino (so that already tells you this is a good movie) but directed by tony scott. the main story is that a guy's boss hires a call girl for him to get laid on his birthday, they end up falling in love, getting married and such. she is afraid of her old "pimp" so Clarence(the main dude) goes and kills the slobby pimp fucker (very funny character) then instead of grabbing her bags, they end up with a suitcase full of cocaine. wow. yum. anyways...he calls his friend to sel it, and they are on the run from a sicilian mafia .....thats where the story begins now go and SEE WHAT HAPPENS

Bonwater-

just finished it, its actually a really good movie. unique story line for what the name misleads. it has nothing to do with bongwater (there is marijuana usage) but thats it. i love all the actors in this movie, very good characters.

So I finally got to see 21 the movie today. First impressions were good seeing as the beginning song was mgmt. At first glance the movie catches your eye, it explores the semi untouched subject of gambling and addiction. Jim Sturgess (Ben) does an awesome job in his second film. i already had a crush on him from across the universe. This movie was pretty awesome, it kept me on the edge of my seat and landed me in the risky world of card counting, and dirty punishment. Basically the story is about Ben, a genius that doesnt have enough money to get into harvard med school. so he joins this underground club at his local college led by a professor (Kevin Spacey) , and learns to count cards. being the brain that ben is it comes easy like childs play. So ben decides to get into this card counting team so he can save up for Harvard med. eventually the plot thickens, a twist of love (loser gets the girl story), he loses everything blah,blah, blah.
point is- this movies badassity level is pretty high

Horton Hears a Who, Religious?

I went and saw this movie opening day. I was really excited to see a more modern interpretation of this badass story.
First Thing I noticed was the flawless animation. It was really amazing.
One of the things that made this movie so funny and enjoyable are the characters and cast. The Voice of Horton, played by Jim Carrey is most notable. I havent heard him do such outrageous Fun Voices since ace ventura pet detective.

Now, for the story. it was a relatively short movie. 88 min runtime. The coolest thing i found out about this movie is that while watching it, i noticed that god was kind of forbidden in this story as the kangaroo (Carol Burnett) said, she doesnt believe any anything she cant hear, see, smell, or feel. after this i couldnt help notice all the religion and/or anti religion references, or inuendo's
